Scent of Stillness: Finding Presence in Uncertain Times

Writer's picture: Sakina IbrahimSakina Ibrahim

2025 has been intense—wildfires, airplanes crashing, fear of financial crisis, and uncertainty about what’s to come. I’m sure the anxiety and fear have hit you, too. I’ve had moments of panicking and preparing for doomsday, then pausing for moments of faith, reading Revelations just to see what to expect next.

Though times are uncertain, we have the power to bring light to the world and tap into the small and intimate moments that make life meaningful. I have been practicing being present by lighting candles, going on walks, taking deep breaths, fasting, reading, and checking in with loved ones more often.

Too often, we get caught up in the media, social media, politics, and the chaos of the world, but we must remember that we are the peace we seek. As we move into the month of love, how can we love ourselves and those around us? How can our light, deeds, and actions embody love? How can we connect with the sources of love in a deeper way? There is no greater time to pray or deepen your spiritual walk than now.

In honor of love, I wanted to share my new favorite candle brand. Yes, I have been upgraded from TJ Max candles, which I always loved but apparently contain lots of carcinogens and toxic chemicals. My friend has an amazing non-toxic candle line —use my friend code ABWELCOME for 15% off.

Wishing you all peace and love, and I MEAN that.

HAPPY LOVE DAY
